I purchased this
1956 Piper as a Tri-Pacer PA22-150 in 1983. After flying as a Tri-Pacer several
years, my A&P friend and I finished a restoration and conversion to a Pacer PA 22/20
in 1996 using the Univar wide gear with double-puck Cleveland brakes, dual toe brakes,
Scott 3200 tail wheel. New Univar nose bowl, lower cowl, sealed struts, Bogert
battery box, Internav alternator, temper-foam seats, AT-150 mode C, ACK E-01 ELT, Narco MK
12D+, new windshield and windows, headliner, complete interior & sound proofing, seat
belts, new wiring, PS Engineering panel mount intercom (4 place), new breakers, prop
reconditioned by Heatland Aircraft & Propeller, installed main gear wheel pants,
muffler bail, and all the normal sutff. Flew and enjoyed for many years then paint began to crack. In 2013
started re-cover using the Stewart Systems Process. Finished re-cover, re-paint and
assembly in 2015. All aluminum parts stripped and etched, new headliner, motor
mounts, shock cords, battery (Gill), fuel line and rubber components, tires and tubes.
Looks as good as it flies again. |
